Leupold GX-2i Rangefinder

Instead of taking a "one-size-fits-all" approach, Leupold has redefined golf rangefinders with a simple principle: customize them to the individual golfer's needs. The GX-2i Rangefinder with Leupold's high-performance DNA (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy) engine and advanced infrared laser provides faster measurements and increased accuracy displayed to the nearest half yard.

Exclusive PinHunter Laser technology, fog mode, and seven selectable aiming reticles hunt down the pin consistently in virtually any weather condition. Prism Lock technology affords unmatched accuracy by using highly reflective prisms already incorporated into many course features and pins to obtain a high intensity return to your GX-2i rangefinder. With Prism Lock, holding the rangefinder steady becomes much less of a concern, and you can be assured your distance measurement is exact.

Taking customization to the extreme, the GX-2i adds the incredible benefits of True Golf Range (TGR) and Club Selector, giving you the confidence you need to play the right shot every time. TGR provides ranging information matched to your personal hitting strength, the slope of the shot, and current environmental conditions to accurately compensate for uphill shots that play long and downhill shots that play short. The Club Selector feature combines your specific hitting strength and TGR to the target, automatically recommending the appropriate club for each shot. Simply input the distance obtained with three specific clubs, and the GX-2i will do the rest.

Rugged, compact, and completely waterproof, Leupold's GX-2i rangefinder is sure to shave strokes off your game. Welcome to the future of golf.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Got my first Hole-In-One with this!! Straight line distance showed 132 yds, but played at 137 (slight uphill par 3 #4 at Micke Grove). Used an easy 9-iron. landed 2 yards beyond the pin, and spun it back softly into the hole as if it were a putt...what an experience!! Regarding the rangefinder, awesome, precise unit, however, it is difficult to "lock-in" on the flag if your hands aren't sturdy. It seems you have to have it on a tripod to get an accurate reading on the pin. Let me explain... I have a Bushnell V2 and even though I am not completely pointing at the pin (± 2 yds left or right of the flag), it still gives an accurate reading to the flag. With the Leupold, it seems you have to be dead on shooting at the flag (± 0 yds of flag) at the moment you press the buton. If you are slightly off, even by a 0.5 yard or so, you'll get distances to objects in the background. Other than that, the readings are very precise (to the tenth of a yard), but lacks on accuracy (deviation from flag) and recognizing what general object you are trying to shoot. It's because of it's accuracy that I gave this Leupold GX-2i, four stars, rather than five. June 7, 2013
