Ping G25 4-PW, UW Iron Set with Steel Shafts - Black Dot

The thin top line and moderate offset of the Ping G25 4-PW, UW Iron Set with Steel Shafts provides a look which appeals to a wide variety of golfers looking for a game improvement model. The sole widths vary (wide to narrow) from the 3-iron through pitching wedge to provide higher-launching, more forgiving long irons, and short irons with added playability and control.

The re-engineered Custom Tuning Port (CTP) is lower than the G20 and integrated into the sole to lower mass and position the center of gravity for high-launching, forgiving results. Support bars align with the impact area to ensure a solid feel and distance control throughout the set. An elastomer cavity badge helps improve feel.

Additional features:

  • Set composition: 4-Iron thru PW, and UW
  • Long-iron forgiveness, short-iron control
  • Sleeker profile, narrower sole
  • Re-engineered Custom Tuning Port (CTP)
  • Stabilizing bars for distance control
  • 17-4 stainless steel with elastomer cavity badge

Rated 5 out of 5 by No gimmicks, just quality I'm a high handicapper that's been golfing for a couple years. I was ready to purchase my first "real" set of clubs and Ping wasn't even on my radar. I was drawn to the TM Rocketbladez, due of course to the advertising blitz we're all exposed to constantly. I went to Golfsmith to be fitted for the proper setup and hit the Rocketbladez and Callaway X-Hots. Then the guy helping me told me to try these. I was immediately impressed with the simple, quality look and feel of the club at address. Nothing "fancy", just a solid looking club. I also like how it has a thin topline which looks more like a players iron than a game improvement, especially with the longer irons. On the launch monitor I found I hit these about 10 yards less than the Rocketbladez, however that is very deceiving because if you know anything about some of the newer distance irons (like the Rocketbladez) you know they are stronger lofted clubs, So, when you're hitting a Rocketbladez 7 iron it's closer to a traditional 6 iron in loft. Anyway, I found the feel of the G25 to be solid, the sound of the solid shots to be crisp and rewarding, and overall I feel like this being a more "traditional" iron takes away the desire for the latest and greatest tech every year (meaning, if I bought the 2013 Rocketbladez, how bad will I want the 2014 when they have some crazy technological improvement that can't be matched!). The end result is the G25 feels great, looks great and is awesome in every way. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and can't wait for my game to improve along with my very first new set of fitted irons! April 6, 2013
