Ping G25 3H, 4H, 5-PW Combo Iron Set with Steel Shafts - Black Dot

The thin top line and moderate offset of the Ping G25 5-PW Iron Set with Steel Shafts provides a look which appeals to a wide variety of golfers looking for a game improvement model. The sole widths vary (wide to narrow) from the 3-iron through pitching wedge to provide higher-launching, more forgiving long irons, and short irons with added playability and control.

The re-engineered Custom Tuning Port (CTP) is lower than the G20 and integrated into the sole to lower mass and position the center of gravity for high-launching, forgiving results. Support bars align with the impact area to ensure a solid feel and distance control throughout the set. An elastomer cavity badge helps improve feel.

With the Ping G25 Hybrid, the center of gravity (CG) position is lower and farther back in the lower-lofted hybrids and progresses slightly forward in the higher lofts to help minimize spin and prevent ballooning (common in higher-lofted hybrids). Custom engineering of the CG helps to achieve proper trajectories and creates functional distance gaps between clubs.

Additional features of the irons:

  • Set composition: 3H, 4H, and 5-Iron thru PW
  • Long-iron forgiveness, short-iron control
  • Sleeker profile, narrower sole
  • Re-engineered Custom Tuning Port (CTP)
  • Stabilizing bars for distance control
  • 17-4 stainless steel with elastomer cavity badge

Additional features of the hybrids:

  • Progressive center of gravity positions for optimized trajectories
  • Traditionally-shaped, 17-4 stainless steel head
  • External sole weighting creates high MOI
  • Charcoal, non-glare matte finish

Rated 5 out of 5 by New Babies Arrive Good grief - I hate scratching up new clubs but hey, they need to show some wear. Ping or Golfsmith should take off those sticky tapes on the clubs before shipping. Had to deal with getting rid of the glue. Annoying! My previous sets were Nike when I was starting, then transitioned to TaylorMade (RocketBladz) and now Ping G25s for a more seasoned and better player. I got the idea of playing cavity backed clubs at a Golfsmith store where I tried out some models. I swear I could not tell the difference between the G25s and G30s - hence, a better bargain as the set inclues several hybrids. The 2-3 yards that others claim to get are so not worth it unless your swing is like that of a robot. These clubs can do the trick for an intermediate player and I've seen advanced players do well with them. Depending on your preference, the weight of the head can be felt in these clubs and the steel shafts make it fun to hit the ball. I'm just pleased to have these clubs in my bag for the next couple of years. February 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The G25's are extremely fun to hit! I went into GolfSmith today to get fit for a new set of irons. I've been playing the Ping G5's for the last 6 years or so, and wanted to upgrade my clubs technology. I am an average golfer, generally shoot in the 90's, but don't have an extremely consistent swing. After a quick warmup session, I swung the G20's, and then the G25's. No comparison here, the G25's were extremely forgiving, and quite consistent. After my club fitter pointed out some improvement points in my swing, I was consistently launching the ball with these irons straight down the fairway. The G20's were fine, but felt a little "clunky", much like the G5's. The G25's were crisp and had a nice clean ball launch. Can't wait to get these out onto the course! February 17, 2014
