Ratings and Reviews for the Bushnell NEO XS Charcoal GPS Watch

Rated 2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Inaccurate yardage I took this to the course the first time and compared the yardage it showed to the yardage on sprinkler heads and the 150 & the 100 yard markers. Sometimes the yardage was reasonably close, within a few yards but other times it could be 15 to 20 yards different. If it isn't consistently accurate what good is it? I returned it to the Golfsmith store and had no problem exchanging it for a Garmin S3 after paying the nominal difference in price. I've used the Garmin watch 4 or 5 times, it's easy to use and accurate, I recommend the Garmin. August 12, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not always accurate First the positive - - NO fees!!! Relatively inexpensive compared to other golf GPS watches. The prices of all golf GPS watches appear to be coming down. The battery life is good - you can get 2 rounds of golf on one charge. Comfortable. Very easy to read. Easy to use. Locks into satellites fairly quickly. Odometer is very useful, especially when I wear the watch when I go walking. It shows me how long I have been walking, how far, and my speed. However: The yardages while playing golf are inconsistent. Sometimes they are right on, while many other times it could be off by 10 or more yards. While you are moving, it does not change yardages very quickly like the Garmin. Sometimes you have to wait for the yardages to recalculate. By that time you may have selected the incorrect club to hit. Several times the watch froze on one set of yardages and did not resume functioning until I got to the next hole. Very frustrating. I contacted Bushnell, and was told to reset the watch. I did that several times but that did not solve the issue. Only a maximum of 4 hazards per hole is just not enough information, but more than most other watches. But my main gripe is the inconsistent yardages. What good is a GPS if you cannot trust the accuracy of the information it gives you? June 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Redesign watch straps - returned 3 times Had no issues with the GPS features, more useful and just as accurate as my old Garmin Approach G3. The main issue is, since June, I have returned it to GolfSmith once (they gave me a new one) and shipped it back to Bushnell twice as the strap where it attaches to the watch comes off. The watch band is real soft rubber and appears to not couple to the watch securely, easily pulling loose. Lost a lot of use of the Neo XS this summer shipping it off and waiting 3 weeks for it to be repaired and returned each time. The issue is a design flaw that needs to be addressed in a new version. I have full confidence I will be shipping it back for a 4th time soon. Wish I could just get my money back as repairing it is not a long term solution. September 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mac software does not work Bought the device after reviewing ALL test available on the internet. Requirement was to have a device that works worldwide. Spent hours trying to make the Mac software (which actually is a plug-in for Safari) working. No joy. completely desperate, I searched for my old Windows machine in the closet. Had to charge, up-date, etc. before I could upload the required, driver and software. After hours of work, with my 7 year old machine I could finally upload the required courses in Bali, Indonesia where I will spend the next couple of days playing. So if you are a Mac man/woman and you play outside the US, you definitely need to look into alternatives. If you play in continental America (US/Canada), you should be all right. June 10, 2014
