Rated 3 out of 5 by Dose what it claims Works great once you learn how to do things with it The he touch screen is to sensitive The battery sucks last maybe one and a half around and on charging it turns off you have to keep checking it to see if it's charging July 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE THIS WATCH! This watch is indeed a bit quirky to figure out at first. The manual neglects to tell you how to manually change holes because the watch is supposed to recognize which hole you're on. And so it was not love on my first date with this watch when I started on the back nine, the 10th hole and the watch showed that I was standing on the 11th tee box. It took me three holes and pressing every button over and over on this watch to finally figure out how to change holes. After that fiasco, I started to like the idea of simply looking at my wrist watch to see my yardage distances instead of pulling my iPhone out of my pocket, opening up the GPS application and dialing my hole number for the appropriate yardage. And the watch is so light you don't even know you're wearing it. I am not experiencing the battery issues that folks here are complaining about. Played nine holes and left the course with a 74% battery charge. My only drawback is that the hazards don't seem to automatically get measured from where I'm standing. I have to move the screen around a bit and then tap the hazard to get a yardage to that hazard. Also I don't see any yardage distances on doglegs, just layups. Maybe I haven't figured that feature out yet.... The technology in this watch is outstanding and once you get to know your way around it's features, you'll wonder how you got along without it. Rated 2 out of 5 by not recommmended unless you're a gadget geek I just purchased this watch (February 2016) to replace a Garmin S1 watch that was stolen. I have had the watch for two weeks and played with it on 5 different courses. I didn't use the shot distance measurement of swing speed functions and so I cant comment on these functions. Pro's - The yardages are very accurate, the main screen with front/back/middle was easy to read, all of the courses i played were available, and it has lots of functions Con's - On almost every hole I had to scroll through the holes to get to the hole that I was on, I think my glove touched the screen With my sun glasses on the screens with the intermediate yardages were very difficult to read. It has a lot of functions that you probably will never use I am going to sell the S6 and get an S1 or S2 If you simply want to know how far you're from the hole - I would recommend the S1 or S2 versions instead If you want to know intermediate distances - I would recommend getting a laser range finder If you want to keep your score - just use the pencil and score card :-) February 26, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Don't Waste Your Time On This Watch I recently returned the S6 watch because the display was not crisp, dark and nearly unreadable in certain light. My current S1 watch has a much clearer, brighter display. I also looked at the S5, and it suffers from the same display shortcomings. When I contacted Garmin support, I was essentially told to live with it or return the item to the seller from which I purchased it. They would not honor the problem as a warranty issue and fix it for free unless I had purchased it directly from Garmin! In my opinion, despite their respective features, the S5 and S6 watches are not currently ready for prime time, certainly not at the price they are being offered at. November 26, 2015
