TaylorMade SLDR White Driver

The #1 driver on the Tour now comes in white!

Loft up for More Distance - the TaylorMade SLDR White Driver's center of gravity (CG) location is low and forward, a monumental shift in metalwood thinking. For decades it has been accepted that a low-and-back CG is best. Moving the CG forward promotes faster ball speed and lower spin. And in order to get the most distance from SLDR, you have to change the way you think about loft.

FACT: High Launch + Low Spin + More Loft = More Distance

No longer is playing a driver with 12 degrees of loft something to be ashamed of. In fact, former British Open Champion Stewart Cink is playing a 12 degree SLDR. While it was admittedly strange to him at first, once he started carrying the ball past his playing competitors, he was sold. Try lofting up yourself to see just how much it will benefit your game. You'll be blown away.

SLDR maximizes distance for all golfers

  • Low forward CG makes SLDR TaylorMade's lowest spinning driver ever
  • SLDR unlocks that distance by enabling the golfer to hit the ball higher with less spin - WHEN THEY ADD LOFT
  • SLDR can help all golfers get closer to the ideal launch conditions of 17°/1700rpm
  • All golfers can achieve distance gains w/out changing their swing or ball speed

21 SLDR weight positions to dial in the desired shot shape

"The white crown with black button back delivers a remarkable appearance at address. Many golfers fell in love with white when it came out in 2011, and now we are delivering a limited edition SLDR with low and forward CG for more distance when you loft up"

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Try it..you will like it Replaced an R1 that I never got used to. Took the time to get fitted and tried a variety of configurations. Gained about 10 yards carry and another 10 yards roll with increased loft and neutral draw/fade bias. The numbers in the fitting booth corresponded well to what I saw on the course. More importantly, it was very accurate. First time out, I hit 11 of 14 fairways and the three misses were close misses. Don't be afraid to "loft up". I increased my loft by 1.5 degrees over what I have played for years. The only drawback is the price. At $400, it is high. I took advantage of bonus club trade in which offset the price. Take the time to be fitted and all clubs perform better, but this seems to be the real deal. June 16, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Driver, PERIOD! I went to a Golfsmith Demo Day and tried drivers from Callaway, Ping, Nike, Titleist and Taylormade. I've always been a Callaway guy and loved the X-Hot from 2013 so I was leaning towards the X-2. I hit the X-2 well, and also hit the G25 and I25 from Ping well too. But then I tried the SLDR and I just crushed it. Consistently farther, higher and tighter (dispersion). Even the Ping and Callaway guys came over and told me I should get the SLDR. I bought the SLDR shortly after and it's been amazing for me. I got fitted, which I recommend everyone do, because it turned out that while I needed standard specs for most of the SLDR, I needed an x-stiff shaft b/c my swing speed is 120. Mine ended up being $500 because of the shaft upgrade, but I think it was worth every penny because of how much it has improved my drives. I didn't check "durability" under pro's because I've only had it for a month so I can't comment on that. Everything else is great. I have the White 12 degree SLDR. I'm a 12 handicap. May 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Club. Not So Amazing Price So, ever since these SLDR's came out, I wanted to go out and try one. I finally did and the same day I ended up buying it. Not just because of the data I got from the launch monitors, but the sound and feel of the club. Sound: The SLDR makes more of a "Thump!" than a "Ting!" sound, which I like. I really don't like loud drivers, but they work, I can't complain too much. I had the Ping G20 before this and loved it. It was just too loud. Feel: I will admit, you don't get much feel off of the face, most of the time. However, when you hit it flush, you know you hit it flush. It makes more of a crack off the face and you get more feel out of the club. It's like if you flush a bladed iron. How can you turn a feeling like that down? Price: It's terrible. I understand that the technology behind the driver is ground breaking, but $450 for one club? The TP model is $100 more? You better be dedicated, get proper fitting, and/or rolling in the Benjamins because it'll definitely put a hole in your pocket. Overall: This driver is insanely good, if you are fitted properly. I had 4 of my friends hit it yesterday and they all wanted it. All of the with 100+ swing speeds. I've heard that people with lower swing speeds have a hard time with it and I understand why. I played a round today (May 15th) and shot one over, hitting all fairways that I needed my driver for. All shots were also over 300 yards (swing speed is +/-115 mph). It really does help on mishits and will give you the yards you could have lost. Would recommend for anyone trying to improve their game, from the 30 handicaps to +1's and +2's. May 15, 2014
