Ping G30 Straight Flight Technology Driver

The Ping G30 Straight Flight Technology Driver features an emphasis on speed without sacrificing performance, setting this driver apart from all others.

G30 Crown Turbulators

To generate faster clubhead speed and ball velocity for longer drives, turbulators were engineered onto the crown of the 460cc head. Proven in wind-tunnel testing to reduce aerodynamic drag and create efficient airflow, the added speed from Turbulator Technology provides measurable distance gains for all skill levels. At address, they create a captured appearance with the ball and assist with alignment and inspiration.

G30 Variable Thickness Face

The G30's center of gravity (CG) position is the lowest and farthest back of any Ping model, ensuring optimal launch conditions and an even higher moment of inertia (MOI) in both axes for extreme forgiveness and maximum energy transfer. A new high-strength, lightweight T9S titanium face is thinner and hotter to optimize face deflection for faster ball speeds and longer drives. Another source of power is the TFC 419D high-balance-point shaft. The CG is closer to the grip end, allowing for a heavier head, which increases the MOI and contributes to the extremely low CG. The result is more energy, momentum and inertia for greater distance with accuracy.

G30 Adjustable Hosel

The adjustable hosel has the same mass and outer diameter as Ping's fixed hosels, providing the benefits of adjustability with no sacrifice in performance. Trajectory Tuning+ Technology offers five settings, allowing you to optimize your ball flight by increasing or reducing loft by 6/10ths of a degree or one full degree, to maximize distance and control. Settings are standard, +0.6°, +1°, -0.6°, and -1°.

The G30 SF Tec driver is for golfers whose swing path produces tee shots right of their intended target. Weight is positioned near the heel to help square the face at impact. Combined with a lighter swingweight, these factors improved shot bend in player testing by 12 yards compared to the G30 standard driver, steering the ball into the fairway with unmatched consistency.

Additional features:

  • Head size: 460cc
  • Materials: Ti 8-1-1 body, T9S titanium face
  • Length: 45.75"
  • Loft adjustability: ±1°
  • Sole CTP - greater range of weights accommodates wide range of after-market shafts for optimizing swingweight
  • TFC 419D Shaft - high balance point allows for heavier head (approximately 5 grams), which increases MOI for more distance and accuracy

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ping G30 Driver 10 degrees I bought the whole set of Irons G30 (blue dot) and G30 Driver, plus the 3,5 woods, and I am very happy with the whole set, I would recommend them to all August 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Birdies! I have a lot to say about the G30 SFTec, and it is all good! I am an over 60 year old female that had been playing a Taylormade R9 with a senior flex for about 6 years. However, I was noticing that I just wasn't getting the kind of distance that I used to. We all change over time, and I started to think that the R9 was just too heavy for me now. I went in to Golfsmith to get a lighter weight club. I came out initially with the Callaway Big Bertha V. It was the lightest weight club I could find. It turned out to be way too light for me. The idea of the Big Bertha V is that lighter weight will turn into faster ball speed. However, you have to be able to feel the club in the backswing in order to bring it through straight, and I found I couldn't feel this club well at all. Also, club weight can bring a little kick to your drive as well, and I was missing that. I was playing one day, and a friend pulled out her Ping G30. I think I started drooling, because she asked me if I'd like to hit it. SOLD on one shot! The club had an excellent feel, and without any practice with it, my shot went straight and long! I realized at that moment that I would need to use that great exchange policy that Golfsmith has for clubs. I went back to the store, turned in my Big Bertha V, and got the G30 SFTec. I never missed many fairways with my R9, but I have a natural fade. Most importantly, the SFTec was 3 grams lighter than the regular G30. Since my intent was to get a lighter club than what I had, I decided to go with it due to the weight difference. I have it dialed up to 11 degrees (there is a difference in loft between the G30 and SFTec, so be aware). I didn't need the "offset" on the club to hit fairways, but it sure does. I also re-found my distance with this club. I am getting on more par 4's in two, and making one putts for birdies, because I'm so close now that I can take a wedge and get closer to the pin. I also had a birdie on a par 5, and I've only had the club for about 3-4 rounds! I'm an 18 handicap, and I just shot an 89 on a course I don't know, with 2 birdies on par 4's. Go get this club! Rated 5 out of 5 by Almost Speachless Not one to get caught up on all the latest golf hype but do like trying what is new. Having recently lost a lot of weight and getting back to my game my swing speed isn't great. So accuracy is a premium for me. I have been using a G25 my Pro hand loaned me and it was fine. With this club I went from an inconsistent slice to a straight drive to slight fade. Even getting to be able to control the fade a bit. The extra yardage is great but just the play-ability alone makes it worth it. June 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most forgiving driver I have ever owned. I am 56 years old and just hit a 336 yard drive with this club straight down the fairway. And that happens when I hit the sweet spot! Even if I strike off center the club brings everything back. First time I have ever purchased expensive clubs and it was well worth it! The old saying that the cloths make the man applies to golf clubs too. The custom fit of the Ping sizing tool help me to get clubs more suitable to my game and it has shaved a lot of strokes off my game. Money well spent. May 7, 2015
