TaylorMade RSi1 4-PW, AW Iron Set with Graphite Shafts

Face Slot Technology makes the TaylorMade RSi1 Iron their longest iron, even when you miss the sweet spot. With TaylorMade's Advanced Face Design that features their thinnest face, a deep undercut, and Inverted Cone Technology, you get a club that promotes maximum face speed and advanced forgiveness. Advanced construction and multiple dampening systems improve sound and feel, while the new Reax 90 graphite shaft from True Temper helps to optimize ball flight for ultimate distance and performance

TaylorMade RSi1 AFD

New Face Slot Technology in the 3-8 Irons:

  • Two slots located near the heel and toe of the club face that provide uniform flexion across the face
  • Protecting ball speed and generating more consistent distance on off-center hits
TaylorMade RSi1

Improved Speed Pocket with ThruSlot Technology in the 3-7 iron:

  • Provides ball speed protection on shots below the center of the face
  • Increases launch angle and ball speed on all shots

"We've taken everything we've learned about Speed Pocket Technology and have been able to apply it into the face. Face Slot Technology provides greater consistency across the face, giving players improved performance on mis-hits. And you can only find Face Slots in RSi."

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointing This is my 4th Taylor Made iron set, I usually purchase every 3 years. I traded my Burner 2.0 set for the RSI 1 set, big mistake, I am an 18 handicap, these are really made for low handicap in my opinion. The 5 iron sounds like I hit a piece of wood, 6 thru PW are just ok, whereas the Burner 2.0's were buttery to hit, these feel chunky. My best game is the AW from 50 yards in, but this wedge design in the RSI's have a sharp edge, which catches the grass on my backswing. Both sets have graphite, senior shaft flex, distance is very similar, but feel is where the RSI's fall short, I am really very disappointed in Taylor Made on this one. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Long and forgiving It is what they say it is.... Off the toe or off the heel it wont punish you a lot in distance. Has a good solid feel at impact and the carry on these clubs when struck right is outstanding! My old set was the Nike Covert 2.0, and while it was a good feeling club if it was off the toe or heel I lost 40%. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Revolutionary Technology These clubs look awesome! I must say, I haven't had a chance to play these clubs, but the technology makes sense. I just don't know why this hasn't been thought of before. It's good to see a fresh idea in irons beyond the simple adjustment of an iron's appearance. November 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beware of grass and assorted debris. These irons look great and the technology sounds believable. I would just like to point out that, being a notorious range rat, I am concerned about all of the nooks and crannies these clubs have. My clubs must be spotless after hitting balls or playing and I'm concerned that I am going to need a vacuum cleaner to get these cleaned up. I already deal with that issue on one of my hybrids and one of my fairway woods (very frustrating#. I don't have an answer - I just know this might be enough to stop me from buying these irons. Several years ago, I bought my first two-ball putter. The bottom had two slightly hollowed out areas... the putter would actually sometimes get caught up in the grass #with a good shallow takeaway). I resorted to filling in those hollows with epoxy and fell in love with the putter all over again. I read later in one of the golfing magazines that several of the tour pro's had done the same thing with their two-ball putters. Just a thought! Nick P. October 15, 2014
