How to Choose Headcovers

Why do we need them?

Headcovers from afar look like odd decorative pieces; we see the many different colors, shapes or characters bounce around on the back of a golf cart as they head off down the path. But truly there is a reason for these oddly shaped items commonly known as the headcover.

On a lighter side, headcovers allow us to express our personalities through color, laughter and fun. But truthfully, the functional purpose behind them is purely protection for the clubs. Initially they were created to fit snuggly over your wood heads to prevent them from clunking around in the back of the cart and chipping. But as time and technology have emerged from the early days of golf, they are not only used to protect the heads of your clubs, but the shafts as well, now that shafts are produced out of other materials besides steel.
