How to Buy a Tennis Racquet
Kids' Racquets
If you're buying a tennis racquet for a child who's just getting into the game, consider
a junior racquet. It's generally size, not age, that determines
which racquet a child should use.
Junior frames come in graduated
lengths:
-
21 inches (for kids up to 3'11")
-
23 inches (3'11" to 4'6")
-
25 and 26 inches (4'6" to 5')
A child
should move to an adult-sized, 27-inch racquet at the 5' mark.
But these are just guidelines - experts agree that if children show
that they can handle something bigger, you should bump them up.
